What is a constellation?
The constellate is the person who comes looking for answers or healing in the face of family or personal problems. They may be experiencing emotional suffering, blockages or repetitive patterns that they want to understand and overcome.
During the session, the constellee briefly shares his or her intention or difficulty with the facilitator. He then observes how the constellation unfolds, with group members taking on the roles of the different elements of his family system.
It’s important to note that, throughout the day, the constellate also participates as a representative in the constellations of the other participants. This allows them not only to bring their own story to the table, but also to actively contribute to the collective healing process.
What is a representative?
The representative is a participant chosen to embody a member of the constellation’s family system. This is a special role, as the representative has no prior information about the person he or she is representing.
Once positioned in space by the constellate, the representative is guided by his or her physical, emotional and energetic feelings. He may experience sensations, emotions or adopt postures that faithfully reflect the constellate’s unconscious family dynamics.
This phenomenon is often inexplicable, but it offers surprising clarity on the blockages present in the family system. The role of the representative is therefore essential in making the underlying patterns visible and enabling them to be resolved.
